You've got some questions in engineering or computer science education that you'd like to explore - you just need a day where you have the time and support to flesh your questions into a high-quality study.

Enter the 2025 Scholarship of Engineering Education Symposium ... a one-day symposium on September 27, 2025, in Charlottesville, VA, at the University of Virginia.

The focus of the 2025 symposium is on building qualitative research skills and developing out studies. It features

  • Get Skills!  Morning Qualitative Research workshop delivered by Dr. Sarah Lilly.  With her PhD in Education from UVA, Dr. Lilly's research centers on STEM+CS education, particularly using qualitative methods to understand the integration of mathematics and science concepts with computational modeling and engineering design practices.
  • Get Time! Afternoon Study Design workshop where each attendee develops a study - from research question to the nuts and bolts of methods - and gets feedback.
  • Leave with a Study!  ... designed around your engineering/cs education interests.

All faculty, staff, and students engaged in engineering education are welcome and there is no cost to attend.
